Capital Hotel Plc ( Owners of Abuja Continental Hotel ) closed the 2025 financial year on a strong note, reporting a 59 per cent year-on-year increase in revenue and a 32 per cent rise in profit after tax.
The performance was powered by steady demand at its flagship property, the Abuja Continental Hotel, despite prevailing economic headwinds.
Chairman of the company ,Ramesh Kansagra who disclosed this at the company’s 45th Annual General Meeting held said the results highlight the resilience of premium hospitality in Nigeria’s capital.
Shareholders at the AGM lauded the Board and management for the company’s strong performance and for advancing the ongoing refurbishment and modernisation of key hotel facilities, which are designed to elevate guest experience and uphold international hospitality standards.
Director , Capital hotel Plc Alhaji Abdulkadir Aminu, who chaired the meeting on behalf of Kansagra appreciated the robust support of the shareholders in the rebuilding process targeted at raising the bar of the company’s prime property – Abuja Continental Hotel
Kansagra noted that 2025 brought significant economic adjustments, including inflation, currency volatility, and rising energy and operating costs.
” Changing travel patterns and increased competition in the high-end segment added further pressure. However, sustained demand for quality accommodation, conferencing, and events in Abuja provided a solid foundation for the company’s growth.” he declared
According to him , the strong performance coincided with the rollout of a board-approved capital investment programme aimed at modernizing the Abuja Continental Hotel.
Kansagra noted that the ongoing refurbishments and infrastructure upgrades are focused on maintaining international standards, enhancing guest experience, and safeguarding the hotel’s position in the premium market.
“These investments are part of a long-term strategy to protect and grow the value of our flagship asset, not short-term fixes,” he stated.
The Chairman noted that strict cost management, paired with targeted capital deployment, enabled the company to boost profitability without compromising service standards.
Looking ahead, he expressed confidence in the company’s outlook, citing Abuja’s continued importance as Nigeria’s administrative and diplomatic hub.
Capital Hotel Plc, the chairman explained will prioritize completing key phases of its refurbishment programme, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening service delivery across all business lines to deliver sustainable value to shareholders
